The global environmental ecology has been impacted and changed by climate change and urbanization. As a part of the eco-city, the “urban beekeeping” has also begun to receive attention. In our promotion of urban beekeeping, it is found that the general public’s understanding of the ecological behavior and ecological role of bees seems to be slightly inadequate. It is necessary for the general public to learn the bee ecology and environmental requirement through environmental education, etc., for them to acquire bee knowledge and understand the importance of the ecology and the environment, which will in turn change people’s life habits, values and attitudes towards the environment. This study takes the "Songshan Community University Urban Beekeeping" course as a case study. The purpose is to establish the relationship between people, bees and nature from teaching actions, bring bees back to the city through course teaching and practical actions, and combine beekeeping techniques with ecology education. The aim is not only to reproduce bees, but also to constantly examine the changes in the ecological environment in teaching beekeeping courses, and to improve the relationship among people and people and the environment. The urban beekeeping experience course of Songshan Community College opened 13 courses with 305 people enrolled from 2015 to 2018. The beekeeping courses feature integration and connection of various resources across different areas, combination of different areas of expertise, and hands-on practical beekeeping experience in groups. Through cooperation among NGOs, integration of government policies and cross-disciplinary courses, promotion of environmental education in primary and secondary schools, establishment of a middle school apiary, the learning process and feedback of the learners were observed. Studies have shown that a complete industry chain may encourage learners to have more motives for beekeeping. The colony record table allows participants to effectively record and understand the status of the bee colony, and even facilitate future analysis and judgment. Through the establishment of the online community, communication can be enhanced and the feelings of the students can be condensed, which is helpful for follow-up of the learning outcomes of the students. Interviews were used as appropriate adjustments for future beekeeping curriculum planning and results tracking, and further development of relevant strategies.
