Summary: | 碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 教育行政與管理學系 === 107 === This study aims to understand the motivation, current situations, and influences of parents with high socioeconomic status involving in case school affairs. In this qualitative case study, semi-structured interview and documentary research are applied, and Dongdu Experimental Primary School ( pseudonym) is selected as the research field where most of the parents present high socioeconomic status and high involvement in school affairs. The research participants contain six parents, three teachers, and two administrators. The research conclusions are summarized as below.
I. Parents involve in school affairs due to self-interest and altruism factors.
II. Parents are brave to express the opinions, but few are playing the role of policy consultant.
III. Parents apply family-based involvement on one hand , but focus on instructive life guidance and counseling on the other.
IV. Parents apply family capital and supportive orientation to assist the school.
V. The cooperation between parents and the school realizes the operational ideal of the school, while few parents come up with interfering in school affairs.
VI. Teachers’ teaching resources and vision are enhanced, but the autonomy of novice teachers could be more easier threatened.
VII. Parents acquire school information from various channels to enhance their education competences.
VIII. Parent-teacher partnership is conducive to students’ daily manners, learning effectiveness, and sense of belongingness.
Finally, several suggestions are proposed in the study as the references for schools, teachers, parents, and relevant research.
