Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 輔導與諮商學系 === 107 === The purpose of this research is to explore the experience of a 27-year-old female named Liz who is in a transnational long-distance relationship, and to explore the relations between her experiences and the symbols in her dreams, also the transformation of her dreams. Case-study method and in-depth qualitive individual interviews were applied to analyze the process of five sequential dreams in this reaserch. Moreover, the meaning of Liz’s dreams and the transformation of her psyche were investigated by Jungian dream approach proposed by Jungian analyst, Robert Johnson (Johnson, 1968), and Analytical Psychology was adopted to comprehend Liz’s experience. The results show that Liz’s early experience and object relations deeply affect her interpersonal process and her romantic relationship. Besides, the symbols and the meanings in her dreams also present the themes of her transnational long-distance relationships that: 1. Though we are separated by space, you’re always in my heart. 2. The talent and weakness as a caregiver. 3. Dilemma between staying in Taiwan with family and going abroad with the lover. 4. Containment and perspective taking vanish the distance in relationship. 5. Facing the ordeal in relationship with partner together. Furthermore, the transformation of psyche is observed in the interpretation of sequential dreams in the archetype level, and the transformation shows the individuation process: 1. Perceiving the shadow of the Caregiver helps Liz insight the interpersonal process in romantic relationship. 2. Perceiving the lack of the development of Anima in psyche ferments the possibility of transformation. 3. Encountering the ordeal makes Liz’s individuation process back to Nigredo. 4. Self-caring and self-containment facilitate Liz’s psyche rising from arshes. 5. Connecting inner Anima helps Liz weather the storm. On the whole, the psyche may be the core issue in the transnational long-distance relationship rather than the distance. Liz in the interpretation of dream process gradually loosened her archetype of the Caregiver, and her psyche correspondingly transformed. She became more capable of taking care of herself, and more comfortable to face ordeals in relationship. Finally, according to the results, the research contributions and limitations are discussed, and the suggestions for practitioners and futher researches are provided.
