The dissemination of science is even more equal to universality. Using appropriate teaching aids can make classroom experience more complete. This study chose to design a new practical teaching aid with the biological behavior as the main axis, allowing students to experience interesting processes and observe the results through simple steps. The design concept of this study is to make an "insect light trap teaching module" that is low-cost, small, and easy to carry. The module use a light box to study insect phototaxis behavior, and is used in high school science practice courses. The module comprises a light box and a viscous board, wherein the light box can illuminate six different wavelengths of LED light at a time, and the sticky paper on the viscera board can be removed after each experiment and placed under the microscope for identification and preservation of insect species. The device has been proven to be effective in trapping insects from field and indoor tests. At present, this teaching aid has been tested in two schools. In general, students believe that this teaching aid is novel and interesting and can lead to motivation for learning. This course provides knowledge about the phototaxis behavior of insects.
