In the future environment of lack of natural energy, understanding the family structure is crucial to the change of household energy use, fully grasp the aging and minority population environment, and develop an efficient energy policy. This study uses the data of“Report on the Survey of Family Income &Expenditure”. The data year is from 2005 to 2017 for a total of 13 years. The data range includes family members with Taiwanese nationality on the island and outlying islands. The main variable is family structure. Variables, including the age, gender, and income of family members, to estimate the differences in the use of gasoline and electricity by different family members, in addition to the economic type of households, mainly due to the difference in the background energy of the economic generation .
