If there is an intelligence healthcare platform, the physiological signals of patient with the medical sensors can directly upload to cloud by the deployed IOT gateway. The nurse can monitor the patient’s condition remotely and centrally. This can help to reduce the unnecessary waste of the medical resources effectively. As a result, in order to let the patients with medical sensors feel free to walk around in the medical institution or hospital, the gateway deployment would be an important issue. However, we found that when there is a human body between sensor and gateway, the communication would be interrupt by shadowing by body. Shadowing is general problem in radio sensor network, but there is few research to talk about such the problem. Therefore, we proposed a heuristic algorithm to deploy the BLE gateway for healthcare platform. The contribution of this thesis includes; 1) we guarantee the full coverage; 2) take the shadowing by the human body into consideration; 3) the gateway deployment algorithm can be suitable for any user density scenario.
