In this thesis, according to spatial hole burning effect to reduce the number of longitudinal lasing modes by increasing the distance between the gain medium and the front mirror. Experiment results show longer distance, more stable peak power. However, it didn’t inhibit self-mode-locking. To achieve more stable peak power, we use an external feedback mirror to create etalon effect. External feedback inhibits self-mode-locking, but it will increase pulse width and decrease pulse energy, when feedback 35% to 50%, it didn’t optimize peak to peak stability.
