Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 管理學院管理科學學程 === 107 === Taiwan's memory chip semiconductor manufacturing industry has invested a lot to achieve the scale of economies and reduce manufacturing cost. However, many of Taiwan memory chip semiconductor manufacturers have been confronted with some financial difficulties as their parent company went bankrupt since 2008 global financial crisis. The remaining memory chip manufacturers in Taiwan have therefore, become more conservative by turning into low volume high mix production to maintain business flexibility. Technology products continue to change with each passing day. Advances in technology lead to the growing demand of memory chips and the increase in productive capacity, whereas lags in semiconductor process technology and product portfolio complexity cause high pressure on cost control. Review of capital expenditure proposal thus becomes relatively important.By implementing prescriptive analytics, we can create an aprropriate capacity configuration model by linear programming for decision-makers.
