AC-DC adapters are found in most home appliance and have become one of the major improvement targets. Among the application, isolated DC-DC converters play an indispensable role. In addition to high power conversion efficiency (PCE) and high power factor (PF) at the input voltage of the mains (90VAC~ 264VAC), the use of increased operating frequency to shrink the volumes of the filters and energy storage elements is the important trend currently. In this thesis, a gate driver of a high-voltage half-bridge LLC resonant converter (LLC-RC) is designed. The input voltage of the converter is 400V, and the output voltage is 20V. The input voltage range of the gate driver is 6-12V, and the operating frequency is set to 10 MHz in order to achieve the purpose of reducing the energy storage elements. In order to suppress the gate voltage surge, the gate drive circuit uses the gate voltage slope control function. The automatic dual-sloped control (ADSC) mechanism is added to afford general-purpose function when applying to power switches of different specifications. This gate driver is implemented in TSMC 0.25 μm HV CMOS process. We only use 12V high voltage elements in order to balance the minimum circuit postpone and the wide output voltage range of the gate drive circuit when applying to the different threshold voltage power switches.
