碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 音樂研究所 === 107 === This thesis, which mainly focuses on the four original musical pieces of “Chen Ding-Lian Works Presentation”, discusses the core concept of composition, the computer technology application, and the analysis of the works. The thesis is divided into four chapters: The first chapter is the introduction, a comprehensive explanation of computer music’s development background and the motivation of writing this thesis. The second chapter is the compositional idea of the main concept of the four concert works, including the background of the composition, the structure of those works, sound material, spectrum, rhythm and detailed analysis of works. The third chapter is the analysis of the role and the function technology plays in these works, which consists of three major aspects: timbre creation, gesture shaping, and space construction. The technology applied in the works includes tape technology, granular synthesis, ring modulation, reverb and delay effects. The fourth chapter is the conclusion and reflection on the entire thesis and reflection on the creation.
