Blockchain originated from the birth of Bitcoin, which was proposed by Japanese scholar Nakamoto Satoshi, and Blockchain is the underlying technology of Bitcoin. The four elements of the Blockchain are Distributed Ledgers, Cryptography, Smart Contract, and the Consensus mechanism, which are used to construct the technology. The blockchain was initially applied to the financial industry. As the blockchain evolved from 1.0 to 3.0, its application range gradually expanded. Today, under the research of various fields, the medical industry, music industry, energy industry, agriculture, art industry, etc. can be seen in its application. The research takes the art trade industry as the analysis target. The art trade industry is a special industry, because artwork is the embodiment of the intellectual property rights of art creators, its uniqueness is different from ordinary goods, and the art trade industry is two-way interaction between artworks creators and artworks buyers. However, because of the uniqueness and preservation of artworks, art market faces many problems today. One of the problems is the flow of counterfeit artworks. Counterfeit artworks not only cause financial losses to artwork buyers, but also result in the impact of the intellectual property rights to the artwork creators, and cause mistrust between the buyers and the sellers. This problem was solved after Blockchain appeared. The research will explore the application of Blockchain in this industry and the development strategy of the domestic art trade industry through literature review and expert interviews.
