Summary: | 碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 企業管理碩士學程 === 107 === Purpose - The Myanmar Government has adopted several policies as part of its overall initiative to stimulate economic development. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are are the backbone of economic growth, contributing significantly to the GDP through job creation. The purpose of this study is to examine and understand the current situation of the SMEs sector in Myanmar. More specifically, it aims to address what are the problem and changes take place in the enterprises.
Design/methodology/approach - The paper study and analyze the primary collected data through survey and interviews with various stakeholders of SMEs sector in Myanmar. Also, secondary data such as literature reviews and other archival documents were analyzed for the research objective.
Findings - The finding revealed three-factor exist in the SMEs sector in Myanmar: commercial factor, constructive factor and constitutional factor. These factors deliver a certain degree of positive and negative consequences to the SMEs sector in the country.
Originality/value - The paper mainly focuses on the insight situation of the small and medium enterprises sector in Myanmar. This paper contributes to the practitioners and literature. For practitioners, the paper allows the reader to understand what are the recent inhibitors and accessibility in this particular sector. For literature, this paper can be used by future researchers to enhance the quality of their research outcomes.
