Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 土木工程系所 === 107 === Inclinometers are conventionally used to monitor slope movements, but there are some disadvantages such as higher expense and lower spatial resolution in this technique. In recent years, the relatively new technique, Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR), which is based on transmitting an electromagnetic pulse, has been used to slope movement monitoring for many years. In order to understand the performance of combining Inclinometer and TDR, Lai(2017) used both numerical simulations and physical experiments(large-scale direct shear device) to preliminary discuss the influences of geometric configurations for getting better sensitivity of TDR cable and suggesting the best geometric configuration. This study follows Lai’s study and further extends the laboratory experiment. The main tasks are reproducing the large-scale direct shear test for repeatability, changing grouting strength and improving the sensor design for attempting to amplify the TDR response to ground deformation. According the results of this study, we have serval major discoveries shown as the following: (1) The monitoring lifetime of TDR deformation system is found to be longer than that of Inclinometer monitoring; (2) We confirmed Lai’s(2017) result(the best geometric configuration) test is repeatable; (3) In the laboratory experiments, we found that the stronger backfill grouting(Water-cement ratio increased to (1:2) can greatly enhance the TDR response; (4) The TDR cable’s sensitivity can be further improved by installing nut blocks. It is very helpful for detecting displacement in the early times. Finally, according to the above results and discoveries, this study provides some suggestions for co-construction of inclinometer and TDR landslide monitoring system TDR for better practical use.
