The participants that completed the smoke-quitting Clinic program in Taichung Veterans General Hospital Puli Branch, been tracked and classified as “successfully quit-smoking” are the only main participants of this survey. Total of 121 people met the conditions and completed the survey. The research revealed that in term of "personal factors" smoke quitting effectiveness is related to; gender, age, education level, job nature (internal and out field workers), health status, and living habits; male, between 50-59 years old, high school level, have smoking related disease, ill within 5 years, receiving treatment 3 to 4 times a month, have the best result in Smoke-quitting program. In terms of "environmental factors", it is related to; near-smoke environment, smoking prohibited regulations, and peripheral support. It is worth mentioning that many successful smoke-quitters "turned around" and become smoking cessation advisor, sharing their successful experiences as interpersonal communication models, this improving smoking cessation results. In terms of medical technology, if medical institutions can slow down the symptoms of withdrawal, it may reduce the number of treatment interruptions and improve the effectiveness of quit smoking. A "smoke-free environment" is a public policy that the Government continuously promotes. The "smoke-quitting clinic" in medical institutions is the only measure for the "terminate" policy and achieve government's smoke-free environment policy. Allowing our citizen to quit smoking and improve overall national health, it can also reduce the medical costs of other “smoking related disease”. The main participants of this survey are different from other regions sample; it is stated that most of Taichung Veterans General Hospital common patients are single, living alone and most of them are male, therefore, the results may be different from other regions and medical institutions.
