Not only the music academic fields, but also the drama academic fields place a high value about this musical. There are some points that are worth a discussion in this musical--such as the motif, the application of alienation effect, the symbols and the characteristics of the characters. There are lots of Austria-Hungary features and characteristics in this musical. The emotions of audiences are raised by character personalities, emotional releases, and musical expressions. Motif constantly recurring appears in the musical, and it is associated with every character, which means every character has his / her motif. There is a lot of modern style music in Elisabeth. Besides, the lines, plots and motif represent different people, events, and substance. The Death is a symbol, which represents Elisabeth insists on pursuing freedom.
