Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 科技藝術碩士學位學程 === 107 === Among the diverse religious cultures in Taiwan, most of religious believers worship the local gods. Statues, religious activities, and temples are important cultural assets of Taiwan. Traditional Taiwanese papier-mache is a folk art used in religious rituals and funerals. After researching traditional paper handcraft, I design a new model of the village deity combined with incense and joss paper. My work contains a physical part and a virtual part. I use this two parts to show that the village deity consists of people’s spiritual energy. Trying to display the benefit cycle between human and god. My work’s physical part symbolizes religious activities, and virtual part symbolizes psychological influences of religion. When audiences stand in different directions of the work, they will see different scene. People in both right direction and wrong direction of work will see the physical part, but only people in correct direction can see virtual part. I simulate the relationship between people and religious cultures.
