Thus, our life has become more and more convenient. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is one of popular wireless protocols in IoT. Thanks to the low cost and low energy properties in BLE, this technology is applied to many fields. iBeacon is a new technology proposed by Apple in 2013, and it caused Bluetooth Beacons to be commonly used in marketing. Bluetooth Beacons can provide some services such as indoor navigation, mobile payment, real-time advertising and so on. In this paper, we use BLE technology in Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL) system. Because of 80/20 principle, most customers are interested in a small part of merchandise. If we put the resources in the right places, we can get more benefits than before. Hence, we considered the popularity of each merchandise, and we suitably allocated resource to ESLs. We firstly propose the Neighbor Discovery Process (NDP) delay model which considering the failure of transmitting advertising packets. According to the NDP model and popularity of each merchandise, we use a gradient- based algorithm to calculate the NDP parameters for ESLs. Our method can reduce the average delay under the condition that total power consumption is not increasing. Finally, we propose a power-saving mechanism which can adaptively adjust NDP parameters to reduce the power consumption for popular ESL depending on their surroundings. 曾學文 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 96 zh-TW |
