The characteristics of steel are easy construction, light weight, good plasticity and toughness. Due to good plasticity and toughness, the steel structure provides sufficient early warning delay before the steel structure is destroyed. Therefore, the steel structure has good earthquake resistance and therefore more and more steel structures. Compared with reinforced concrete structures, steel structures are easier to construct and have a lower weight, so they are also widely used in high-rise buildings. Due to the overdevelopment of environment, building resources are gradually depleted. Compared with reinforced concrete, steel is easier to recycle and the pollution generated by the manufacturing process is relatively less. Because Taiwan is surrounded by the sea and is a subtropical island-type climate with high temperature, high humidity and high salinity, some areas are affected by highly industrial factors. Therefore, environmental factors cause corrosion of steel in most parts of Taiwan. In addition, the engineering workers do not understand the characteristics, construction and quality inspection of the steel structure, resulting in a decline in the quality of the steel structure construction and a significant reduct the durability of the steel structure, which in turn affects the safety and useful life of the overall structure. This study relies on the collection of specifications、books and the literature on the internet, to discuss the basic concepts of steel structural materials、work area planning、hypothetical engineering、welding、pre-assembly、bolting and construction planning and site installation, according to the construction characteristics and inspection principle of steel structure engineering, a general discussion is made, it is hoped to provide reference for practical applications in the industry, and thus improve the quality of domestic steel structure engineering.
