Since 1986, Vietnam has taken part in the negotiation and signing of 16 different regional trade agreements. Among them, the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) is the only agreement with high standard labor provisions. In order to meet the requirements for joining the TPP, Vietnam must carry out a series of labor regulations and institutional reforms. This study uses literature review and interviews with experts to evaluate the impact of TPP’s labor provisions on Vietnam’s labor law, and then provides proposals and measures to improve the labor law of Vietnam. The results of this study show that TPP’s labor provisions will help to improve Vietnam’s labor regulations and law enforcement efficiency, making them more in line with international standards, and also help to improve the of transparency Vietnam’s labor law.
