Intended for inspecting the surface paint of glass balls, the system involves test fixtures for testing the balls’ adhesiveness and wear resistance to enhance the durability and color stability of the ball coatings. Optimal process parameters were identified through the reliability method to ensure product quality and reliability. An examination was performed to ascertain the quality consistency of raw materials. Because the paint materials were provided by paint manufacturers, the examination involved inspecting the color concentrates and resins they provided as well as the desired paint colors after mixing, thereby reducing manual mixing errors and the glass ball coloring fail rate. A database was established for storing the detected colors to increase mass production efficiency. A spectrophotometer was employed to inspect paint colors. Basic colors, namely, red, orange, yellow, green, and blue, were adopted as references in establishing the database. The color values were used as the initial data for color mixtures. The color concentrates and resins were examined and then mixed for lacquer detection and coating-bar and scratch-card examination. Color changes that occurred before and after the ball roasting process were calculated for formulation of the standard paint mixture parameters. To confirm whether the lacquer process parameters were satisfactory, an aging test was performed on the lacquered balls. The balls’ adhesiveness was tested at various temperatures and humidity levels, and the adhesive strength of the coatings was subjected to a wear resistance test. According to the experimental results, this study demonstrated that spectrophotometry can be used in standardizing the process of mixing paint for ornament balls. The color changes that occurred before and after the ball roasting process were identified, and standardized paint mixture parameters were defined as references for subsequent ball painting. Additionally, the resin adhesiveness after the lacquering process was crucial in optimizing the process parameters.
