碩士 === 明志科技大學 === 經營管理系碩士班 === 107 === In the era of the information technology boom, social media has played an important role in every day. It affects all aspects and all areas of life. In the past, individuals used social media to update their information, keep in touch with their relatives. Increasingly, however, they are utilizing these platforms to improve their knowledge and skills, widen their network and develop their professional. Combining with a clear career orientation, individuals can achieve career success in the future. This study aims to investigate how career anchors effect on individual’s continuing professional development. The study also aims to examine the effect of characteristics of social media on CPD and the moderating role in the relationship between career anchors and CPD. The data of paper was collected by 207 questionnaires via the Internet. The results indicate that both career anchors and characteristics of social media have a positive effect on CPD. Besides, the results also show that characteristics of social media moderates the relationship between career anchors and CPD. It also hopes that the information obtained from this study can help individuals to gain a better understanding of continuing professional development and encourage people, especially professionals to develop their knowledge and enhance their skills via social media.
