This study adopts the one-group pretest–posttest design, and participants of this study are 11 patients from the psychiatric day ward of a regional hospital in Southern Taiwan. Participants of this study form table games group once a week for 60 minutes each time (8 times in total). The research tool is the Tennessee Self Concept Scale (TSCS:II) for adults, which will be distributed for pre-test and post-test before and after the table games. Meanwhile, SPSS will be used to conduct reliability and validity analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test and correlation analysis based on the Tennessee Self Concept Scales recovered. The results of the study are summarized as follows: (1)Gender perspective: it seems that female patients are more enthusiastic about table games. (2)Age perspective : patients within the 21 to 30 age group are with the highest raise in the physiological self-concept scores. Patients over the age of 61 are with the highest raise in the psychological self-concept scores. Patients within the 51 to 60 age group are with the most reduced social self-concept scores. (3)marriage perspective: the unmarried patients are with the highest raise in the physiological self-concept scores; the divorced patients are with the highest raise in the psychological self-concept scores; the married patients are with the highest raise in the social self-concept scores. (4)education perspective: patients with high school education or college level technical training are with the highest raise in the physiological self-concept scores; patients with illiteracy or an elementary school education are with the highest raise in the psychological self-concept scores; patients with a college education are with the highest raise in the social self-concept scores. (5)religion perspective: Christian patients are with the highest raise in the physiological and social self-concept scores; Buddhist patients are with the highest raise in the psychological self-concept scores. (6)In terms of the physiological self-concept scores, psychological self-concept scores and social self-concept scores among the patients from the psychiatric day-care unit, table games can help improve their self-concepts. This study suggests the following three points:(1) It is recommended that the holistic activities can be designed;(2) It is recommended that the diversified and inspiring activities can be added;(3) It is recommended that the self-concepts of psychiatric patients be improved.
