Summary: | 碩士 === 龍華科技大學 === 企業管理系碩士班 === 107 === The problem of the shortage of manpower for nursing staff did not exist in recent days. It has actually started more than a decade ago and has now evolved into a worldwide problem. In other words, the shortage of nursing human resources has not only occurred in Taiwan, but has become a common problem in all countries of the world. In particular, the population of aging and the number of patients with acute and severe illness increase, which has made the problem even worse. The demand for elderly and common people is increasing, as well as the requirements for medical quality, such as evaluation, patients’ safety, and shifting work hours, all of which has made nursing staff overworked and led to the problem of so-called “sweat hospital.” This study used the questionnaire survey method, targeting Taiwanese clinical nurses as the research participants to explore the relationship among nursing staff’s work stress, job burnout, and turnover intention. The valid sample was 209. The data analyses found that the work pressure of the nurses positively affected the nursing staff’s job burnout, and their job burnout positively affected their turnover intention. In addition, work burnout had a partial mediating effect on the relation between work stress and turnover intention. Based on the results of the data analyses, this study proposes relevant suggestions for practical use.
