Description
Summary:碩士 === 高苑科技大學 === 機械與自動化工程研究所 === 107 === A new technique of vacuum assisted resin transfer molding process, called progressive compression method (PCM), has been developed to reduce the filling time. In PCM, a double-bag is used; the outer bag is divided into several segments and each segmented bag is controlled individually. During infusion, the double-bag is pulled away from the preform by vacuum. Resin is easily infused into the loose stack of the fabrics. Once required volume of resin is infused, the vacuum on the segmented bag is released in sequence. The atmosphere is applied on the segmented bag that is inflated to compact the wetted preform in a step-wise manner. The sequential inflation of the segmented bag is to squeeze the surplus resin from the wetted preform and to drive the resin through the remaining loose and dry preform. Finally, the inner bag compression can entirely compact the preform and remove the unnecessary resin. The hot air can be utilized to preheat the resin for enhancing resin flow at the appropriate compression segment. The purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of process variables on the cyclic period and part properties in the PCM.
