But students who graduated from different elementary schools have big difference in reading music notation. It makes teaching progress difficult to achieve the teaching goal. The study includes 367 students from a junior high school in Kaohsiung City. The questionnaire survey used a combination of Numbered Musical Notation to learn alto recorder. The content is divided into the elememtary school age, the junior high school age and extended learning. The questionnaire was analyzed with SPSS 22.0 software, and the results were as follows: 1.During elementary school age, students who need to write Phonetic while reading notation are more than those who do not need to write Phonetic. 2.The junior high school students who do not learn instruments feel the Numbered Musical Notation is easier than notation. 3.Students who read Numbered Musical Notation are easier to find songs online by themselves. 4.After learning Numbered Musical Notation for three weeks, it is considered that it is easier than notation. 5.Using pop songs and folk songs for teaching are helpful for alto recorder learning. 6.Students who learn instruments for less than one year think Numbered Musical Notation is easier. 7.There are significant differences in learning notation at different grades during elementary and junior high school . 8.Different ways in reading notation have significant differences in elementary school. It is expected that this study will provide another way for the alto recorder teaching during junior high school and a reference for the future study.
