The advanced countries have already adopted the universal design in indoor public space, but in Taiwan, the museum design is regulated by Design Specifications of Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities, whether it meets the principle of the all age universal design still needs evaluated. This research is qualitative research, using literature review and field investigation methods. The evaluated indoor public spaces were entrance, ticket office, information desk, elevator, staircase, toilet, corridor, ground surface, guide sign and spectator seating according to the existing museum space structure. This study established the evaluation items for indoor public spaces in museum by surveying the seven principles of universal design and the Design Specifications of Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities to examine the universal design conditions of the Kaohsiung National Science and Technology Museum, the Tainan Chimei Museum and National Museum of Taiwan History. The result shows that the universal design considerations in staircase and toilet are insufficient, while spectator seating, guide sign and ground surface are consistent with the principles of universal design. Finally, the elevator should not to be distinguished between general user and disabled user to comply with the principle of fair used. CHANG,CHUNG-YI 張從怡 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 102 zh-TW |
