Description
Summary:碩士 === 崑山科技大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 107 === Due to the change of manufacturing environment by the trend towards lower birth rate and raising labor cost, the automated production seems to become a panacea for solving all kinds of problems in the industry. However, in the precision sheet metal industry with small-volume large-variety production which frequently switches production lines and customized products, whether the high cost of investment in automated-production equipment can meet manager’s expectation becomes the major concern in decision. The purpose of the research is to compare the efficiency of traditional manual sheet metal bending operations with the introduced automatic machine from the aspects of bending process, tolerance and the benefits. In order to realize if the introduction of automatic bending machine meets the management expectation, the research starts understanding the sheet metal bending process and calculating the tolerance generated. Then, the status qua of the automatic operations in the C Company is presented. Besides, the two types of bending productions are further evaluated based on the utilization rate, production efficiency and process stabilization. The results of the research show that the automatic equipment is better than the traditional either in machine utilization rate or product precision. However, the traditional equipment is superior in production efficiency. In general, the research concludes that the automatic production has brought some benefits to the C Company and recommendations are presented.
