1. Why do people go to the surf clubs to work in exchange for accommodation, and through what kind of channels do they get this kind of information?
2. How do surf club executives and accommodation exchange students reach an agreement on details like the number of days, work content, working hours, benefits provided, and exchange standards?
3. How do these people interact with one another - exchanged students, surf club executives, employees and tourists?
4. After the activity, what are some of the new experiences those students get from this activity?
The study found that the main motivation for this kind of free accommodation is to learn surfing, enhance surfing skills, and to know people with the same interests. The information on accommodation is from the Internet, or from surf club executives directly. The welfare and exchange standards for accommodation are proposed by the business provider. People who can accept the deals, they apply with their resume. There are frequent interactions between surf club executives, store staffs, tourists and accommodation exchanged students either at work or at the beach. Accommodation exchange students can share work or teach visitors how to surf. After this kind of activity, some people have the unique experience of getting up in the early morning at four o’clock and preparing to surf and watching the sunrise. They do not regret the decision to come to the accommodation.
