碩士 === 開南大學 === 健康照護管理學院健康照護技術碩士班 === 107 === Clients with chronic schizophrenia have encountered many problems in their life and become one of the serious social problems in Taiwan. Study revealed that horticultural treatment can effectively improve the Client's happiness. Therefore, 6-week horticultural activities were conducted in a psychiatric specialist hospital for 12 Clients. The results showed that after 6 weeks of horticultural activities, "I have been exercised enough", "I have been interested in other things beside work", "I have critical thinking to make good decision", and "I am good at gardening" were significant differences according to the test of “The Efficacy of Horticultural Therapy Evaluation Form”. The average pre-test score was 21.97 improved to 26.18 after 6 weeks of horticultural activities. Regarding to the test of "Life Satisfaction Scale", their pre-test average was 24.67 improved to 27.35 after 6 weeks of horticultural activities. Two clients who were D and I got the most benefits. This study confirmed that horticultural therapy increased the well-beings of Clients with chronic schizophrenia.
