Integration of the curriculum with e-Learning methods to improve learning outcomes has become a transformation on educational trends. Through the e-Learning platform and the rise of educational technology, students' learning is no longer limited by time and space, and it helps to learning efficiently.
The teaching of Social Course is one of the significant foundation of cultivating the positive social behavior on the nine-year basic education, especially at the stage of elementary level. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to explore the difference on the elementary school students’ learning achievement and learning attitudes through the new design teaching of Social Course by e-Learning platform compared with the traditional teaching methods.
The method adapted in this research was a pretest-posttest design of quasi-experimental method. The data were collected through Examination in Social Course and Social Course Learning Attitude Questionnaire. Two classes of the third-grade students from an elementary school in New Taipei City were assigned to the experimental group and the control group. The results of this study are analyzed with one-way ANCOVA, paired-sample and descriptive statistic.
The researches provide that:
1. This innovative teaching by integrating Social Course with e-Learning platform helps to raise up students’ effectiveness of learning.
2. This new design teaching helps to increase students’ interest of Social Course learning, and students show positive learning attitudes as well.
In conclusion, this design teaching program by integrating Social Course with e-Learning platform shows positive feedback from students’ learning achievements and attitudes. This study can be adopted as a reference for those who intend to design the teaching programs of Social Course on e-Learning platform.
