The thesis accomplished laser-guiding mechanism design, overall prototype manufacturing, mechatronic system test, laser-fiber equipped apparatus assemble, micro linear-actuators control, and myRIO embedded controller firmware coding. LabVIEW GUI utility is employed to develop the laser fiber-scanning control algorithm, and the verified source code is embedded into a myRIO controler to drive the micro linear actuators installed on the laser fiber-scanning platform. Through the developed system, the controller can guide the fiber-scanning mechanism to travel through a 2x2 mm2 region with its laser spot diameter in 1 mm, when departs as far as 2 mm from its fiber-scanning coordinate origin. However, the laser spot may diffuse to 4 mm in diameter once it travels outside of the 2x2 mm2 internal region, as far as 4 mm from its fiber-scanning coordinate origin. The laser guiding system established in this thesis successfully control the fiber-scanning mechanism, which effectively direct the laser spot to travel through prescribed trace patterns using four micro linear actuators, and laser diffusion effects as well as mechanism tolerances are conpenstated to accomplish the laser fiber-scanning object.
