Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔英科技大學 === 護理系碩士班 === 107 === Background: Pain is a fairly common experience. Whether acute or chronic pain, the patient may suffer from physical and psychological problems. In recent years, the application of auricular stimulation has been used to relief of pain. However, there is no shortage of placebo effects. The actual effectiveness of the two needs to be further clarified. Objective: The aim of this study was to contact the differences of auricular stimulation compared with placebo effect in pain relief by a systematic review and meta-analysis. Method: Electronic literature search of CEPS, National Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations in Taiwan, CNKI, Wanfang Data, Taiwan Journal Theses, PubMed, CINAHL, The Cochrane Library, Science Direct, EMBASE, MEDLINE, EBCSO, NRC. Total 13 databases research articles were included for this study. We included all randomized controlled trials that compared auricular with placebo effect, evaluating the outcomes in patients with pain. Results: A total of 8 randomized controlled trials studies were met the inclusion criteria and contained appropriate data for meta-analysis. The total number of samples was 735. According to the pain attribute, it was divided into acute pain (n=7) and chronic pain (n=1). Overall, random-effects meta-analyses was showed non-significant of auricular compared with placebo effect (SMD= -0.425, 95% CI = [-0.959, 0.108], p =.118). In sub-group analysis was showed non-significant of auricular compared with placebo treatment (SMD= 0.011, 95% CI= [-0.496, 0.518], p=.118), and significant difference of auricular compared with sham treatment (SMD=-1.225, 95% CI = [-2.324, -0.125], p = .029). Conclusion: The result from this study suggests the auricular stimulation could reduce the pain of primary dysmenorrhea or musculoskeletal or joint problems. In addition, the study recommended the main auricular points could include the Shen-men, Sympathetic, Liver, Kidney, and Cortex etc. This result can be providing as alternative choice for medical members to improve the health care quality.
