Patients’ medical experience is an important factor for their relationship with physicians. Primary care institutions are the major settings for people to receive medical services. However, their medical experiences and relationships with physicians have not yet been explored. The purpose of this study was to investigate people’s medial experience and its influences on physician-patient relationships in clinics. Methods: This study is a cross-sectional study with mixed methods. Qualitative data collected by observations and in-depth interviews were analyzed and incorporated with prior literature to develop a structured questionnaire for this study. With high reliability and validity, we conducted a quantitative survey among patients in two family medicine clinics in northern Taiwan from April to May in 2019. Two hundred and forty-six patients participated in this study. Descriptive and inference statistics were performed with the 22nd edition of SPSS statistical software. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to identify the most important factors of physician-patient relationships. Result: The participants’ medical experience and the physician-patient relationship in these two clinics are generally positive. The scores of emotional and sensory experience in the medical experience are higher than other experiences. The satisfaction of the doctors in the medical relationship is higher than other aspects. The correlation coefficients of medical experience and physician -patient relationship were from 0.63 to 0.82 (p <0.01). Regression analysis found that after controlling other variables, feel (β = 0.35, p <0.001), relate (β = 0.22, p <0.001 ), sense (β = 0.22, p <0.001 ) and think (β = 0.15, p <0.05) experiences showed significant and positive influences on physician-patient. Conclusion: This study confirms that people with positive medical experiences tend to obtain good physician-patient relationships. Suggestions to enhance medical experiences of patients were proposed to strengthen the physician-patient relationships from management perspectives. Chen,Kai-Ren 陳凱倫 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 128 zh-TW
