Summary: | 碩士 === 佛光大學 === 未來與樂活產業學系 === 107 === Since Taiwan’s declining birth rate leads to the increasing unused school space, the open School is an innovative way to repurpose it. This study aims to explore the future development of the open School for the junior high schools in Yilan County. A Structured interview method was employed to understand the motivation and the postmodern meaning for the open School, a SWOT analysis of school development, and the creative marketing strategies from the different perspectives of the school managers. As a result, the suggestions for the school future development were offered.
The major findings were as follows:
(1) The good basis of the open School is the multiple facility and community resources which the schools develop and make good use of.
(2) Open School should connect tightly with the community by integrating the resource, humanities and arts, the festival activities, and the comprehensive development of the community into the school curriculum and teaching activities.
(3) Convenient communication has crucial impact on the residents to participate the school curriculum and activities.
The suggestions for the education authority were as follows:
(1) Integrate and coordinate each of the unused school space.
(2) Offer the educational training courses to enhance the teaching and administrative competence.
The suggestions for schools were as follows:
(1) Break down the boundaries between the school and community from the multiple perspective of postmodern society.
(2) Build the learning day care center.
The suggestions for future research were as follows:
(1) In order to seek the most proper marketing mix strategies, the low consensus constructs should be further investigated.
(2) Explore more schools from other areas to gain a holistic research.
