description 碩士 === 佛光大學 === 未來與樂活產業學系 === 107 === Hot springs have been applied to health promotion abroad, but it is still regarded as a kind of recreational entertainment in Taiwan. Hot springs industry in Taiwan has not yet been associated with health promotion and health preservation. In the related research of hot spring bath, many results of high-temperature bath and low-temperature bath are not consistent. In addition, there is no empirical research on cyclic bath of hot springs at different temperatures, and multivariate observation instruments are not adopted to assess the impact of hot spring bath on physical changes. In view of this, this study used empirical research methods to explore the impact of intervention of bathing in hot springs at different temperatures on the energy of body and mind meridians. The subjects were 34 healthy adults, with an average age of 43(±18) years. The subjects were half immersed in hot springs at different temperatures, such as warm, hot, warm, cold, and warm conditions. Before and after the intervention of cyclic hot spring bath, they were measured by heart rate variability analyzer, brain wave analyzer, meridian apparatus and ear thermo gun, so as to observe the changes before and after such intervention. In addition, the heart rate variability analyzer, brain wave analyzer and ear thermo gun were also used to measure the subjects during the process of bathing in hot springs at different temperatures, such as warm, hot, cold and warm conditions . The results showed that the parasympathetic nerve index (HF) increased and the heart rate (HR) decreased after bathing in hot springs at different temperatures, which indicated a relaxing effect. At the same time, the power of left and right θ waves increased and the ratio of right β waves decreased, which indicated that both the body and mind of the subjects achieved a relaxation effect; both the standard deviation of the NN interval (SDNN) and total power (TP) increased, which showed that the physical activity of the subjects increased, and the energy of most meridians increased, but the heart meridians remained the same, and the body temperature of subjects decreased, indicating that cyclic bath increased physical activity and energy of meridians, not affected by body temperature. The results of comparison on bathing in hot springs at different temperatures, namely warm and hot conditions, showed that HR, NLF, LF/HF increased and HF decreased, indicating that the body was in a state of hyperactivity. The power of left and right β waves increased, the ratio of right β waves increased and the α waves of left and right brains increased, indicating that bath in hot springs under hot and warm conditions enhanced the homeostatic activity of the autonomic nerves of the subjects and made their mind clear and relaxed. The comparison results of bathing in hot springs under hot and cold conditions showed that the levels of SDNN, TP and HF increased, while HR and LF/HF decreased, indicating that bathing in hot, warm and cold springs had the effect of relaxation and increasing vitality to make autonomic nerves tend to balance, and it also decreased the power of left and right brain waves α, β, θ, δ while increased the ratio of left δ waves, indicating that the subjects’ brain wave activity decreased and their deep consciousness relaxed. The comparison results of bathing in cold and warm springs showed that the power of the α, θ waves of the left brain, the power of the δ wave of the right brain increased, while the ratio of the δ wave of the left and right brains increased, indicating that the subjects’ mind was in a relaxed state; while the rise of LF/HF and TP showed that the body was in a state of hyperactivity, indicating that bathing in warm springs enhanced the homeostatic activity of the autonomic nerves and the deep consciousness achieved a relaxed state. This study concluded that with the scheme of cyclic bathing in hot springs at different temperatures, the alternating bath under changes between cold and hot conditions could alternately stimulate the brain waves, autonomic nerves and energy of meridians, so as to achieve the effect of regulating the automatic nerves, relaxing the mind and enhancing the energy. It is suggested that this hot spring health preservation scheme can be extended to hot spring operators so that more and more people can practice in their life in order to maintain their health and promote a healthy life.
