Aim: This study aimed to explore the effects of singing bowl therapy on auditory mind using the POWER AVS and a qualitative interview. Methods: This study was approved by the institutional review board (file number: 18-053-8). A single arm design with opened intervention was adopted. A pre-test measurement of POWER AVS was conducted, followed by the knocking of edge of the bowl covered on the top of head for three minutes using a woolen bar; the knocking sites were adjusted according to participant’s feedback on sound intensity. A post-test measurement of POWER AVS and an opened questions interview were conducted. Non-parametric paired sample t-test and 2 test were used to evaluate the data using SPSS 20, and the statistical outcomes were cross explored with the interview data. Results: The aura and seven chakras after intervention were significantly different from the aura and seven chakras before intervention, so as the stress/relaxation graph, state of mind-body graph, mind and body indexes of the mind-body-spirit graph, and color wheel/Yin-Yang (p values < 0.05). No difference was found in Energy Level (green , light blue and red channels) and psychological index. Conclusion: Singing bowl therapy is effective in elevating the aura and energy in normal humans. The therapy is simple and time-saving, and useful in relieving stress and promoting the balance of mind-body-spirit. However, on reference to the interview findings and the fact that no statistical difference was identified in psychological index, we found no evidence to indicate that singing bowl therapy alters the complexity of the raise of thoughts. Further study with longer observation period is warranted. CHEN, SHUO-FEI 陳碩菲 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 184 zh-TW
