This research adapts qualitative research and used in-depth interviews in unstructured interviews in the interview method to collect information. Individual interviews were made in the tool machine industry chain in Taichung with five successors in the sixth and seventh grades.
This research disclosed main key factors on the business succession of small and medium-size family Businesses – A case study of the machine tool machinery industry : (1) family education and growth process, (2) how the family mission is generated, and (3) The previous generation did not have a clear succession plan. From those three points, the previous generation should have a planning plan to take over, and help the successor have a sense of mission, reduce the problems encountered in the succession process, and then help the successor to establish a team to complete the business succession. .
