Description
Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 管理學院碩士在職專班 === 107 === With the development of mobile devices as well as the advancement of communication technology, mobile communication has entered the new era. Thus, unprecedented problems continue to arise as a result of constant use of mobile devices. Internet addiction is one of the consequences of such technology, and it has had a great impact on the interaction between parents and children and users’ mental and physical status. Accordingly, the research aims to investigate the relationships between parent-child interaction and Internet addiction, with gender as a moderator. The research adopted convenience sampling and the subjects were 5th and 6th graders from an elementary school in New Taipei City. The data was collected through an online self-administered questionnaire. 313 participants completed the questionnaires and SPSS 22.0 was employed to conduct descriptive statistics and inferential statistics for the study. The result indicated that 14.1% of the students had a high addiction tendency, and there were negative relationships between parent-child interaction and Internet addiction. Correlation Coefficients were between -.13 and -.18. Furthermore, gender did moderate negative relationships between parent-child interaction and Internet addiction. The conclusions and suggestions of this research were divided into two dimensions. As for the parents and caregivers, they can set up rules as to how much time children can use the Internet. During free time, more leisure and outdoor activities should be arranged to increase interactions between parents and children. For children, they can be taught to manage time well and form the habits of leading a life full of multi-leisure activities. They should also be encouraged to face the challenges posed by reality.
