In light of this trend, there has been a rising demand of the elderly for leisure activities. In addition to providing the elderly with good health care and appropriate leisure activities, more attention is needed with regards to satisfying the psychological needs of the elderly. The purpose of the study was to investigate whether the leisure activities have a positive effect on the cognitive functions of the elderly. The study was conducted in the form of a survey, with data gathered from elderly aging over 65 years old with leisure activity experiences. A total of 104 valid questionnaires were collected. SPSS and AMOS were used as analytic tools. Major finding from the study: leisure activities lead to positive effect towards the cognitive functions of the elderly. Relevant suggestions based on the study outcomes were provided for government agencies, appropriate bodies and future academic scholar as reference.
