Companies must commit to developing seasonal new materials and formulations to make the company have a place in the competitive environment. However, the silk content of silk mask paper is very little. This study is to research a mask with a higher content of silk. Due to cost considerations, Philosamia Cynthia ricini silkworm will be used. But Philosamia Cynthia ricini silkworm can’t silk reeling well. In order to increase the content of the mask silk, we can only use the hand-made papermaking technology to carry out the experiment. Study the pulping and refining process will be also studied. The result were indicated that the using of pulping is need to ensure the silk has been dispersed into shorter fibers thoroughly. Refining, refining can make the silk filaments to rich structural advantages of silk fibrils. However, the papermaking method did not provide enough strength when tested mask in wet. Fortunately the strength of the tested masks were increased by adding different amounts of chitosan. In conclusing, Silk from Philosamia Cynthia ricini can used in mask producing using papermaking method for its good water adsorption and reworkability.
