It has been nearly fifty years. In recent years, the old building and space have become inadequate for use. It has been transferred to Physical Education Office, National Taiwan University of Sport. Therefore, the dismantling and rebuilding project is proposed to turn Chung Hsing Hall into the dancing center of NTUS. There have been more art spaces in Taichung these years, such as National Taichung Theater, Taichung City Tun District Art Center, and Chung shan Hall. To increase the different types of art space, it is proposed that Chung Hsing Hall could be used as the teaching, practice, and performance space for Department of Dance, NTUS, to enhance the cultivation of the dance talents in central Taiwan. The acoustic simulation and analysis are made in the interior acoustic space of the hall. The simulation is analyzed in terms of the three items as follows: sound pressure level (SPL), articulation index C80, and reverberation timeT_60. These three are the research indexes of the acoustic space. The computer simulation research is done with Sample 1, to set up the acoustic shells on the ceiling of the original design, and Sample 2, to change the ceiling shape directly without setting up the acoustic shells, to analyze the pros and cons of the result. The design result aims at the art spaces in Taichung providing a variety of spaces for art and cultural activities and increasing the art and cultural atmosphere in Taichung. The research and analysis of the acoustic simulation will help create a better acoustic space for the interior of the hall, level up the humanistic literacy of this area, and encourage the foot traffic.
