As training effectiveness is highly correlated with participating motivation and self-efficacy, this study focuses on the correlation between the participating motivation and self-efficacy of military EMTs. Method and Subject: A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted on a military unit based in Xinshe District in central Taiwan. A total of 322 valid questionnaires were completed, with a response rate of 85%. The survey has been assessed for its reliability and validity with an internal consistency coefficient (Cronbachs alpha) of 0.91, has been reviewed by an institutional review board (IRB). The analysis of the completed questionnaires was conducted with Version 18.0 of the SPSS statistical software. Result: The subjects of this study are mostly non-commissioned officers (NCOs), with a number of 175 subjects (54.35%), followed by soldiers and officers. Subjects have the most instances of service experience in routine emergency standby support within military camps, with a number of 287 subjects (89.13%). Self-affirmation has the highest average score (4.65±0.27) in participating motivation, while self-worth scored the highest in self-efficacy (4.48±0.11). The Pearson correlation analysis test revealed a positive correlation between participating motivation and self-efficacy (r=0.647-0.861, p<0.001); while the multiple stepwise regression analysis showed an explanatory power of 75.9% in the overall model. This indicates a high correlation between participating motivation and self-efficacy, verifying the hypothesis of a positive correlation between participating motivation and self-efficacy in the military EMTs of the ROC Armed Forces. Conclusion: Positive correlation between participating motivation and self-efficacy is found in the military EMTs of the ROC Armed Forces under high self-efficacy. Through this study, we hope to provide an operational reference for business operations and policymaking and to enhance the promotion of EMT skills at the Medical Affairs Bureau and other institutions or organizations.
