碩士 === 中國科技大學 === 室內設計系 === 107 === This study takes the Taiwanese cultural visual elements from the international airport public space and enhances the core of space aesthetics. The main research purpose is to explore the appropriate situations for the characteristics, displays and presentation methods of the Taiwanese cultural visual elements in the public space of the D area in Terminal 2 of Taoyuan International Airport. The research uses an online questionnaire to survey teachers, students, and designers who has a background in architecture or interior design. The total of 250 valid questionnaires are collected and uses SPSS22.0 statistical software for analysis. In the view of the study for the Taiwanese cultural visual elements of public space in the D area of the Terminal 2 of Taoyuan International Airport, this study has obtained three conclusions as following: 1. The characteristics of Taiwanese cultural visual elements for the construction of Taoyuan Airport Terminal 2 are in accordance with six aspects of light source/energy, moving line, shape, color, material structure and theme. The overall appropriate situation is between acceptable and appropriate, and no difference because of the gender, age, education, working years and work types of the research subjects. 2. The displays of Taiwanese cultural visual elements for the departure D area of Taoyuan Airport Terminal 2 are five facets of geography, science and technology, history, architecture, and art. The overall appropriate situation is between acceptable and appropriate, and no difference due to the gender, age, education, working years and work types of the research subjects. 3. The presentation methods of Taiwanese cultural visual elements for the departure D area of Taoyuan Airport Terminal 2 which are seven major methods: walking around service, outdoor display, visual art, stereoscopic device, interactive experience, ground device, olfactory device. The overall appropriate situation is between acceptable and appropriate. Some difference due to working years, but no difference because of the gender, age, education level and work type of the research subjects. Based on the above conclusions, this study proposes three recommendations for the competent administration, airport public space designer, relevant research institutions: 1. The appropriate situation of the Taiwanese cultural visual elements is between the acceptable and appropriate, it could have some improvements. 2. To expand the scope of research and comprehensively enhance the Taiwanese cultural visual design of public space in major international airports. 3. To add Taiwanese cultural design in the public space of all major international airports in Taiwan and promotes Taiwanese cultural characteristics.
