Summary:碩士 === 長榮大學 === 運動競技學系(所) === 107 === The purpose of this study is predicting the essential criteria of future rugby training by investigated the performance status, ability difference and position-specific skills level between forwards and backs in Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU) rugby Team. Also, analyzed the individual ability level and balance of development and the adaptability of match result. Methods: 30 of elite male rugby player from CJCU would be selected as the subject for this study and analyze their result for 7 different sports-specific ability tests. All the analysis of the data was performed by descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, stepwise regression analysis and Kreyer's evaluation method. Results: 1. Special sports ability and body composition status: a) Forwards: 25.03 cm for Sit and Reach, 7.51 s for 50m Sprinting, 43 Sit-up in 1 minute, 4.83 s for S-shape Shuttle Obstacle Race, 221.12 cm for Standing Long Jump, 9.60s for Shuttle Run, 2220.15m for 12 minutes Run; 21.91% of Body Fat. b) Backs: 24.31 cm for Sit and Reach, 7.51 s for 50m Sprinting, 43 Sit-up in 1 minute, 4.86 s for S-shape Shuttle Obstacle Race, 221.31 cm for Standing Long Jump, 9.87s for Shuttle Run, 2046.35m for 12 minutes Run; 14.37% of Body Fat. 2. Comparison between Forwards and Backs: a) Specific Sports Ability: There was no significant difference between forwards and backs in all physical ability tests. b) Body Composition: There was significant difference between forwards and backs in body fat (backs had lower percentage than forwards). c) Each forwards and backs had its own weakness and strength in their own sports specific ability development.
