How to make the students with heavy workload study efficiently and make students at both ends of the two peaks a win-win situation with the technical aids will be a great help. Plickers can not only solve the problems of equipment maintenance and funds, but also effectively improve the students’ concentration and increase their interests. It is a simple, zero-cost, and fast-starting APP. The study aims to the effect of the APP-Plickers is applied into phonics on English vocabulary learning of the second-graders. The participants were the second-graders of a primary school in Taipei. The experimental group was taught phonics via Plickers , while the control group was taught phonics with oral or paper works for ten-week teaching. The research data were collected through vocabulary ability pretests, posttests, delayed tests and a questionnaire of phonics via Plickers. These data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent t-test and paired sample t-test. The results as follows: 1.The experimental group and the control group both significantly improved their vocabulary abilities respectively. However, the vocabulary ability immediate posttest between the two groups did not reach significant difference. 2.The performance of both groups in vocabulary ability delayed test did not reach significant difference, which suggested that two groups’ English vocabulary abilities were retained. However, the vocabulary ability delayed test between the two groups did not reach significant difference. 3.The experimental group expressed very positive feedback and high evaluation on integrating Plickers into phonics learning.
