More and more tourists yearn for this free and economical journey, Air ticket price has always been a major expense for tourists to travel abroad. Unlike traditional airlines, low-cost airlines offer a lot of cheaper prices to attract tourists, which makes traveling abroad by low-cost airlines popular.
This study collected data envelopment analysis and evaluation of McIntosh productivity index, To evaluate the operating performance of asia-pacific low-cost airlines operating in Taiwan, find out the airlines with relatively no performance, and suggest ways to improve their performance, so as to provide reference strategies for future low-cost airlines to improve their operating efficiency. The evaluation data are collected from the websites of various airlines and the websites of civil aviation administration.
According to the results, Tiger airlines of Taiwan has been growing well in recent years, while easystar of South Korea and cool bird of Thailand have also done well, As measured by the McCue productivity index, the overall performance of LCC operators in the asia-pacific region shows a growing trend, which shows that the development potential of LCC in the asia-pacific region cannot be underestimated in the face of the growing demand from Chinese tourists.
