Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 教學專業發展數位學習碩士在職專班 === 107 === Knot tying is a practical skill that can be applied in everyday life. This study aimed at exploring the effect of storytelling and multimedia-based teaching on the learning outcomes of seventh-grade students in knot tying. A quasi-experimental design was adopted in order to analyze the differences in the students’learning outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills, and attitudes, based on the three teaching strategies of “storytelling and multimedia,” “multimedia,” and “traditional teaching,” during a seventh-grade lesson unit entitled “Introduction to Knot Tying.” A total of 67 students from three seventh-grade classes at a junior high school in Northern Taiwan were included in the sample. The research findings revealed that: 1.Compared to “traditional teaching,” the teaching strategies of “storytelling and multimedia” and “multimedia” resulted in significantly better learning outcomes in terms of the immediate and delayed knowledge in seventh-grade knot tying. 2.In terms of knot tying skills, the “storytelling and multimedia” group had the best delayed learning outcomes, followed by the “multimedia” group. Both groups performed better than the “traditional teaching” group. 3.The teaching strategy of “storytelling and multimedia” was the easiest approach for boosting the learners’ interest in learning.
