Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 通訊工程研究所 === 107 === With Location Based Service (LBS) support, mobile user is able to enjoy specific information/services based on his/her location. The GPS-based positioning technique plays an essential role in outdoor LBS applications. Due to physical barriers and potential interference inside a building, GPS-based positioning system does not work well for the high commercial indoor LBS applications. Various wireless technology based position systems are proposed to solve the indoor position problems (such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, infrared and RFID), but they come with problems, including accuracy, installation, interference as well as power consumption. We proposed a next generation of indoor positioning system (IPS), IL-IMP (Indoor Location by Image Matching based on Panorama), to overcome the limitations and problems of the wireless technology based approaches. By applying image recognition technology, IL-IMP is able to pinpoint the indoor position accurately. Further, IL-IMP is an IPS chat bot, using the LINE bot API, which allows a mobile user to post a picture taken by his/her smartphone. Upon receiving the picture, IL-IMP determines the location and plots the whereabouts on the floor plan. We have implemented a prototype of IL-IMP to demonstrate the end-to-end functionality of the IPS chat bot system.
