Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 運動競技系運動與休閒教育研究所 === 107 === The purpose of this study is to understand how outstanding Taekwondo athletes’ responsibility and cultivation on prosocial behavior influence their future development and career. The research used qualitative method via purposive sampling to select outstanding Taekwondo athletes, including 5 males and 4 females. The research subjects had won top three domestic competitions in their careers and have high recognition and satisfaction on their current jobs after retiring from Taekwondo athletes. The data was collected by semi-structured interview, based on the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) and Career Development Theory. Besides, the open coding, axial coding, and selective coding were conducted to induce, analyze, and compare data continuously so as to explain the concept and information of the data comprehensively.The research results shows that the main findings of the outstanding Taekwondo athletes’ responsibility and cultivation on prosocial behavior include: the coach’s leading strategies (leading style, the coach’s practice example and perception, and team regulations), credibility and cooperation (sharing and discussion, mutual commitment, obedience and acceptation, care and empathy), self-motivated behavior (reflection and motivation), and environment (family education, social environment, training environment). Furthermore, the athletes learned the responsibility and cultivation on prosocial behavior from their athletic career, and positively influence their career development, which including: critical evaluation, observant ability, stress resistance, self-principal, interpersonal interaction, and personality traits. The outstanding Taekwondo athletes’ responsibility and cultivation on prosocial behavior can be trained and cultivated by coach’s leading strategies, the trust and cooperation among teammates, self-evaluation which inspired positive motivation, well family education and environment. As a result, the athletes equip with these abilities of responsibility and cultivation on prosocial behavior by recognition by others as well as other positive impact after working at the workplaces.
