Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 教育學研究所 === 107 === The aim of this study is to explore the ideas of the archery teams by employ the peer mentoring system to implement character education, and the changes in the character of the student mentors and student mentees after implementing the peer mentoring system.
The researcher chose a coach and a pair of student mentor-student mentee in two of each archery teams with peer mentoring system to conduct a semi-structured interview to understand the point of view of coaches and athletes’ in implementing peer mentoring system. There are three main conclusions in this study:
1. Implementing the peer mentoring system in an archery team can effectively share the coaches’ responsibilities in managing the whole team. Through the one-on-one assistance of student mentor, student mentee inherits the norms of the team, assimilates into the team more quickly and help to cultivate the athletes’ characters and social skills. In the contrary, the one-on-one assistance also puts lots of pressure on the student mentors, and the student mentee may rebound because of suffering the strict management of the student mentor.
2. In the peer mentoring system, for the purpose of leading the student mentees, the student mentors have enhanced in the aspects of respect, responsibility, fairness, care, encouragement, obedience, lead by example, empathy, self-improvement and self-adjustment.
3. In the peer mentoring system, through the guidance and assistance of the student mentors, the student mentees have also grown in the aspects of respect, responsibility, fairness, honesty, care, obedience, positive attitude and humility.
